Shaun: I left school with no qualifications at all. I did two months in prison, I thought I’d absolutely blown it. I missed my little boy’s birthday, and Christmas I was away as well, so that was a bit of a kick in the teeth really. And then Paul offered me a job and I didn’t really look back after that.
I did two years on site before I even could get on the college course. I could never have seen myself going to college, I just thought it’d be another school, but it wasn’t, they really did help me.
Gary: Yeah, the apprenticeship has steered him on the right tracks to wherever he wants to be in life, whatever he wants to do, to have the better things in life.
Shaun: Before I left school I never passed an exam, and since I left school I’ve never failed one.
Gary: It is good to see that he has done really well for himself, because he could have quite easily gone the other way.
Shaun: I would definitely recommend the apprenticeship, without a doubt.
